The party started the session at the sun stone, attempting to help Persophocles make contact with someone he knew from his time
He was unsuccessful in his attempts
The spirit guide from before showed up and was angry at Abarrane for paying him with fake disappearing gold
As he was ranting, a woman named Althea approached and shooed him away
Althea revealed herself to be an oracle/star reader
It was her in disguise who had told the party about the reward for clearing the scorpion den, so that they would cross paths with Persophocles
Althea revealed that a very wise man known as The Hermit had commanded her to do this, by communicating with her through the stars
Althea did not know where the Hermit was, but suggested if the party could find him, perhaps he would have more answers for them
The party then left the sun stone and went back to the adventurer’s guild to try to collect payment, but were told they needed to bring proof of having cleared the den
The party went back to the den to collect proof, as well as harvest some of the scorpion venom
While in the den, two more giant scorpions ambushed Kronq
After killing the last two giant scorpions, the party collected some dead scorpions, and one giant scorpion, to show as proof
The adventurer’s guild accepted the show of proof and paid the party
That night, at the motel, Abarrane attempted to get Fese Cheondue to extract the venom, but he was not doing a great job at it
Kronq helped to extract the venom from the giant one
Abarrane made a necklace out of the small ones
The party let Fese keep the giant scorpion to make scorpion kebabs from, and he in exchange let them sleep there for free
Before going to bed, Geir went outside to look at the stars
He saw the constellation of The Hermit, but he also saw the constellation of The Pirate
The next morning, Geir shared what he had seen in the stars, and Auro suggested that maybe The Hermit is the unusual man who lives on an island off the coast of the Shadowrise Defiance
The unusual man was, for reasons unknown to Auro, left alone by all of the pirate crews
Geir asked Fese if he had heard anything interesting lately
Fese mentioned that there was unrest in the slums, and that the Kobold population was growing increasingly angry due to their lack of representation and poor working conditions
The party then went back to the Arcane Library to learn more about the stars and the time Persophocles came from
They spoke with Celest Starfinder, an expert on star reading, who told them about star reading (I forgot what she said tbh)
Persophocles checked out some copies of a few books on the Storm Era, but did not study them yet
