The party visits the Steed & Scroll, which is owned by Gideon Hayes (No relation to Oliver Hayes)
Geir offered to help Gideon with his business’ taxes, in exchange for the savings he earned him
Auro handed over the payment from Duke Geren Masto, including the extra for the delay caused by sending the party to investigate about the crystal
This annoyed Geir and Abarrane, since they wanted to pocket the extra payment for themselves
As thanks for helping deliver and protect the delivery to the Duke, Auro gave Kronq 25 gold
The party then proceeded to the Imaginaerum Hall to see Oliver Hayes’s new play
Towards the end of the play, as Oliver, playing the protagonist of his play, is fighting an adult red dragon, something went wrong with his magical illusion projectors
The dragon started burning audience members, and the storm clouds started striking people with lightning
The party rushed up to the stage to try to stop the illusions
They found that attacking the dragon had no effect at all, but they were able to make the illusions flicker if they attacked the projection orbs
After Geir asked Hayes how to stop the illusions, he told them all they had to do was cover the orbs
Hayes was able to cover one orb, and Abarrane covered the other, stopping the illusions before anyone died, although several audience members were seriously injured
Auro tied up Hayes, suspecting he may have intentionally caused the illusions to go haywire, but he convinced him that he had no idea why this happened
Auro then used his divine sense to see if he could tell what caused it, and felt there was definitely something powerful involved, but it was not celestial, fiend, or undead in nature
Geir then examined the arcana in the area and concluded that this was the handiwork of a fey of some sort
Hayes then departed, saying he had to take care of things and figure out what is wrong with his orbs
The party then takes a long rest in the Fairhaven inn
Abarrane once again feels a presence watching her while she trances
She tried to talk to it, but only heard unintelligible whispers back, and saw a puff of smoke as she turned to confront it
The next morning, the party hears about a cartographer named Lysander Hill that had recently mapped the lands east of the mountains which separate Whitestone from the rest of the continent
Geir visited the Bank of Whitestone
He wanted to open an investment account, but the bank did not offer investing, only secure storage of gold and items
He also tried to get a bank vault, but left when told he would need to provide proof of citizenship
Geir then decided to try his luck investing with the merchants guild
He was able to invest a relatively small amount of 100 gold in a deal with Briar Reed, the head of the merchants guild in Fairhaven
The investment has a 13% interest rate over a four week period
Next, Geir set out to find Lysander Hill, the cartographer, while the rest of the party went with Abarrane while she looked for a new traveling cloak to purchase
Abarrane was able to find a nice cloak from a shop near the play hall
Geir found the cartographer, and paid 20 gold to be able to make a copy of the map
He also had to sign an agreement not to re-sell the map or copies of the map to anyone
Before leaving town to head south to the Sunstone Outpost, the party checked back in with Gideon Hayes at the Steed & Scroll, to see if he had anything to deliver in Sunstone
He had some mail and parcels to deliver, offering to pay Auro, Abarrane, Geir, and Kronq 25 gold each to make the delivery and bring any return mail back up
Upon leaving town, the party happened upon a traveler sitting on the side of the road with only one shoe
Abarrane sliced some bark off of a tree, and Geir fashioned some straps using silk rope Auro provided, to form a remarkably good pair of sandals
The traveler offered his other shoe as payment and happily walked off with his new pair of sandals
As the party approached the inn in Oakrest, they noticed a sign on the door stating the inn was looking for new ownership
Geir asked a local what happened, to which they replied Ricky Stice had been locked up for improperly filing his taxes
Geir claimed to have not been responsible for this, saying that Ricky and refused his tax services
The inn listed its purchase price as 1500 gold
The party then camped just outside town, and had an uneventful night
The next day, as they continued to travel south, they encountered a traveling art salesman named Aldric Blackwood, who had captivating paintings for sale
When you looked at the paintings, you would feel as though you were actually in the scene portrayed by the painting
Finally, the party arrived in the Sunstone Outpost
